Michelle Ehlen as Jamie
Butch Jamie is Michelle's feature film acting debut. She has acted in a handful of shorts, including Half-Laughing and Ballet Diesel, both which she directed. Half-Laughing aired nationally on LOGO as part of season one of The Click List: Best in Short Film, and is now available on The Ultimate Lesbian Short Film Festival.
Prior to film acting, Michelle performed in many stage productions. Her most challenging role was when she was sixteen and played the fair and dainty heroine in a local melodrama, an irony to which she attributed to the fact that no one else in her age-range auditioned. Her mother tried to convince her that she really did have the talent, despite her baggy boy pants that dragged along the stage during rehearsals, and frequent reminders from the director to not put her hands in her pockets. However, Michelle does admit that sometimes it can be quite fun to be a girl afterall...

Olivia Nix as Lola
Olivia is so honored to be a member of the Butch Jamie cast in her first film role. A native of western Massachusetts and current resident of upstate New York, Olivia has enjoyed spending much of her 26 years onstage. Theater: productions with Barrington Stage Company, Berkshire Public Theater, Town Players of Pittsfield, Albany Law School, Wahconah Regional High School. Music: Cambridge Madrigal Singers, musical director of the Smithereens of Smith College. Dance: studied flamenco in Madrid, Spain.
“I can relate to Lola because, like her, I am known to turn into a babbling baby-talking idiot around my pets,” says Olivia. “But more importantly, I am proud to play a character who is comfortable and open with her sexuality, in a film that explores gender and sexuality with a refreshingly honest, warm, and funny approach. The GLBT film genre is sorely lacking in clever romantic comedies, and Michelle Ehlen is its rising star.”
Tiffany Anne Carrin as Jill

Meowing is one of the things he does best, in addition to eating wet cat food and running when he hears the can open.
